How We Review
Every guide on BeforeYouBuys follows the same process. This page explains what we check, where the information comes from, and what we do not claim.
What we check for every product
- Pricing and plan limits, taken from the vendor’s own pricing page when the article is written or updated.
- What each plan includes: seats, contacts, credits, sites, storage, or whatever the product meters.
- Renewal prices, transaction fees and add-ons that change the real cost.
- Refund policy, free trial terms and cancellation rules.
- Who the product suits, and who should look somewhere else.
Where our information comes from
We use vendor documentation, pricing pages, changelogs and help centres. Where they exist, we also look at independent sources such as published security audits, test lab results and public user feedback.
When Pragya has used a product herself, the article says so and describes what she did with it. When she has not, the article says what its view is based on. Research is never described as hands-on testing.
How tools are ranked in best-of guides
Rankings weigh fit for the stated use case first, then price for what you get, ease of use, and the limits you are likely to hit. A tool can rank lower in one guide and higher in another because the use case is different. Affiliate commissions are not part of the ranking.
Keeping articles current
Software changes quickly. Each article shows its last updated date. When a vendor changes pricing or plans, or a reader tells us something is out of date, we update the article and the date.
Spotted a mistake?
Send the article link and what changed through our contact page. We check it against the vendor’s current information and correct the article if we got it wrong.
